Rib Recipe

For the ribs:

  • 2 kg of Pork ribs (it is always better to go for baby pork ribs). As meat delivery is available in Brisbane, you can get fresh meat in the morning.
  • 2 tablespoons of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons of paprika powder
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of freshly cracked black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon of chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil

For the sauce:

  • 2 cups of barbecue sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon of chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt

The Cooking Process:

The step-by-step process for wonderful ribs

  • Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Start by the peeling off the tough membrane that often covers the bony side of the ribs. Place parchment paper on a baking tray, covering it properly.
  • Take a big mixing bowl and start combining the spices. This includes garlic powder, chilli powder, black pepper, onion powder, salt, and cumin. Mix them properly and then sprinkle a generous amount of the seasoning over the ribs along with some oil.
  • Rub the seasoning very well all over the ribs on both sides. Now, take foil and cover them well.
  • Cook it for 2 hours at 180 degrees Celsius.
  • When only 5-10 minutes are left for the ribs to be fully cooked, make the sauce. Place the ingredients under the sauce instructions into a mixing bowl.
  • Now that the ribs are cooked, take them out of the oven. Be very careful. Remove the foil from the tray gently as it is very hot.
  • While the ribs are still hot, pour the sauce on the ribs and mix it well. If you put sauce on hot ribs, it will help the meat to soak the sauce up, ensuring juicy melt-in-your mouth ribs.
  • After pouring all the sauce on the ribs, increase the temperature of the oven to 240 degrees Celsius. Put the ribs in the oven a cover this time. Let it bake for another 10 minutes.
  • Change the oven setting to grill on medium-high heat. To caramelise the edges, grill it for about 3 minutes.
  • Once done, take it out and let it cook for another 10 minutes. This will let the juice recirculate into the meat.
  • Serve it and enjoy.
